These girls rock

I spent the last weekend with these fabulous girls at Youth Conference. I can't say it enough that the girls I work with in YW are so incredible. Such strength and such courage. Each and every one of these girls at the conference demonstrated such spiritual growth and strength. I was absolutely impressed. It is so incredible to know that they hear and listen to what we say to them and that they recognize the importance of spirituality in their lives. I loved every minute of it. And yes at the dance me and the other leaders were like teenagers again, dancing the entire night away screaming along to the songs. What a treat it was to be with them this weekend and every time I am with them.

No I didn't

  • I didn't wake up this morning to Bear hacking and hacking and then finally vomiting and I did not find a chunk 1.5 inches round of nylabone all melted together surrounded by hair in his throw up.
  • I didn't just order a new sleeping bag, which I am FOR SURE NOT excited about having, which I will not need this week when I go on an overnight camping trip with the young women this weekend which I am not freaking out with excitement about.
  • I have NOT been day dreaming of taking time off work, and the time I am NOT dreaming about taking is not A LOT of time.
  • I am not sad about the fact that Aaron will be going out of town tomorrow then me on Friday and I won't see him until Saturday night.
  • I did not go buy LOTS of yummy cookies the other day from a NOT SO FABULOUS place that is not cheap and is not called Diddy Riese.
  • I was not super excited when Obama flew over my work today and I defintely did not think of how I could sneak away from work and try to get a sneak at home, because I do not have a star crush on him at all.
  • I haven't been thinking a lot lately about how NOT SO CRAZY it is that Aaron and I have lived in California for almost two years and I have not been remembering how I was NOT an emotional wreck when we moved.
  • I didn't try the double down this weekend from KFC with Aaron and when I did not try it I did not love it and think it was just FABULOUSLY awful.
So that is what has not been happening with me the last couple of days. Thanks to Allison for the not so great idea. What have you not been doing, thinking, etc?

BDE (best day ever, the acronym is for you Ash)

This last week I spent a day at Disneyland with some of my most favorite people in the world AKA my family. It was such a treat to be at Disneyland with my siblings. It had been years probably a decade since I went with both of my siblings there and it was so much fun reliving my childhood. Of course our family has grown since me, Jer and Matt were kiddos and now includes my sister in law KT (whom I love dearly and am so blessed to have such a close relationship with), Liam, George and Aaron. While Aaron could not join us for the fun day the rest of the crew was there. I can't tell you how cool it was to be there as a group and to watch the pure joy that Liam had. He might just be, actually IS, the coolest 3 1/2 year old in the world. He went on all the rides, yup Splash, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates and of course all the other kiddo rides Small World, Peter Pan, Snow White, Roger Rabbit, Nemo etc. The day I was there with them I think Liam did Space and Thunder 5 times. It was not hot or cold and the lines were almost non existent. They went for another two days in which he did the rides over and over again and again. George was so content sitting on the rides watching everything around him. It was just pure bliss. It made me start to wonder if I will get the year pass when we have kids or not. Liam was just in pure joy as this was his first time and it made me think about how when I take my kids I want them to just L O V E it and not think it is a normal day at the park. Who knows though, maybe it always has its magic no matter how many times you go. All I know is I loved every minutes of it. It was a blast!!!

Here we are after the CREEPY house, as Liam would call it. He was so cute when we were on the ride and inside he would say "it's not scary Krissy." I have to admit he was using some really good self talk, the kind I teach kids about everyday. I am so thankful for my family. All growing up I thought how badly I wanted a sister but as I have gotten older I could not imagine my life any different. I have the 2 best brothers in the world I love how close we are. When I tell people that I don't have sisters often they say that they are sorry for me. But really my brothers are the best and we are as close as you could be to your siblings. I never feel left out being the only girl. They are so good to me. I have the most amazing sister in law who is so caring and loving and is as much a part of the family as a sister would be. Then of course I have the 2 cutest nephews ever. Let's not forget my parents whom I love dearly and I still miss like crazy even though I am an adult (I am visiting them in 2 weeks). Aar Bear isn't too bad either and fits right in.

So happy I had this day with my family this week. It was just what the doctor ordered.

I have some competition

It is no secret that Aaron loves to surf, which I love how much he loves it. It is so great to have an activity that you are passionate about and I love that Aaron has his love affair with surfing. The lucky man got a new board this last weekend and well it is L O V E. Aaron loves surf boards, no joke they make him so super happy. I love to see how excited he gets. I missed out on the purchasing fun this last weekend and I have to admit I was a tad bit jealous I was not there for the purchase of my competition. She is gorgeous and at 6 feet even she has a few inches on me. She is slender, firm and sparkling clean, and well I got my work cut out for me.

This last weekend Aar and I had a visitor for a surfing weekend. It was such a fun weekend. Aar, Clay and Jer headed out to surf all weekend and they pretty much went non stop for 2 days. Jer treated us all to the Clippers game Saturday night and we just had a blast. While Clay could not bring his other half, whom I love dearly (she happens to be putting the final cooking minutes on her new little bundle), it was still a blast and I was so happy that the boys were able to hang out and play. Happy surfing to all, hopefully Aar will get his new love out in the water this weekend!

Spring in my step

How much do I love Spring. I love it everywhere. In AZ I love it, UT I love it, and CA I love it. It is just the best time of year I really do think. Everything is blossoming and coming to life and I love the self rejuventation that comes with this time of year. It is getting close to beach days, granted we do beach days all year but summer beach days you can't really stay covered up the whole time, so getting back in shape is for sure on my mind more so than other times of year. I love having the cool breeze with the warm sun and feeling so ALIVE. It just has such a great energy about it don't you think?

Luckily I found my camera just in time to capture this beautiful time of year.

Easter Sunday after a yummy brunch at Nate and Rachel's.

Easter Sunday we headed to Salt Creek after brunch to relax on the grass. We fell asleep for an hour or so and just enjoyed the most beautiful day, I love being able to head down to the OC and just chill.

Aar checking the view over the sandstone rock we hiked too. It is a good straight shot down from up there.

The view from our hike in Malibu, Easter weekend. Really though Southern California is beautiful. I know I could say this about so many places, which is such a great outlook on life. But really for all those non believers of So Cal I promise I could make you a LOVER real fast.

Aar and I in Manhattan beach. We did some mega treasure hunting that day and I came home with a handful of beautiful shells and full sand dollars. I love a beach where I can find great treasures.

The last couple weeks have been pretty good to us. I of course missed my fam on Easter as I am just such a home body and holidays feel so different without all of us together, but really I am the luckiest sister, daughter and aunt in the world because I really do get to see my family an incredible amount, it is just I want to see them ALL the time!!! It is a good thing I love them all so much. Aaron and I have been enjoying the outdoors and have been thinking of different activities to do in the area. We are both working like crazy which puts even more pressure on us to have fun and relaxing weekends together. Oh yes I even sewed a sock monkey this last week with my twin Kristin, I work with her and she basically rocks. I was pretty impressed. I will have to get a pic up on here for you all to see. This was a big thing for me being that I do not sew really and don't own a sewing machine. Thanks to the help of friends I have been able to make a few projects and I think the time has come so I will be telling my mom I am serious about sewing now so hopefully she will help me find a good machine.
